You might be wondering why I went with the name Prairie Sky Holistic, rather than Nathan Tinsley Holistic. Here’s the scoop: lol. When I was looking for a name for the business, I pored over various ideas. I wasn’t fond of using my own name for the business because if the business ever grew, then it wouldn’t be representative of everyone involved.
I thought of a few names and at the time was leaning more towards something that involved coaching. Half asleep one night, I was inspired in a dream to call the business Prairie Fire Coaching. I used this name while I finished my coach training and to start the business. Eventually, however, I became disillusioned with it because coaching wasn’t all I had to offer. Additionally, fire can be seen as destructive rather than inspiring, which was what I was going for.
In the spring of 2024, while looking at the sky, I thought about different names. Prairie Fire Coaching, Prairie Fire Holistic, Prairie Sky Holistic—nah, Blue Sky Holistic. With the name in mind, I quickly became flooded with ideas that helped to push the business onward. However, just as quickly as the ideas came, so did the realization that Blue Sky Holistic was already taken, at least in terms of social media and a .com.
So back to the drawing board! Lol. After some frank conversations with loved ones, I came back around to the idea of Prairie Sky Holistic. All the social media pages and the .com were available, and the name was original for holistic businesses—aka, “Houston, we are GO!”.
On a more serious note, Prairie Sky Holistic honors my Kansas roots and paints a visual metaphor for how open skies translate to open possibilities. I want Prairie Sky Holistic to become more than my personal journey, I want it to reflect the journeys of all those that are helped along the way.
Kansas is my home and where I healed. Home is where my heart is. I want Prairie Sky Holistic to be home for others to find themselves and to heal in heart and spirit. Welcome to Prairie Sky Holistic.
